Phantom Digital

A Canadian Mailing Address for Non-Residents and Canadians Abroad

Living outside Canada doesn't mean losing your Canadian address. Phantom Digital Mail gives you a real street address in Vancouver, BC, with your own mailbox number. Every letter is photographed the day it arrives, so you can read it from anywhere and forward what you need.

Why people abroad keep a Canadian address

  • Banks and investments still send statements, cards and tax slips by mail
  • Government mail, such as tax notices and pension and benefit letters, often arrives on paper
  • Family isn't a mail service. No more asking a parent or friend to open and photograph your letters
  • Coming back later is easier when your Canadian paperwork never lapsed

How it works from outside Canada

  1. Sign up online and verify your identity. You'll upload two pieces of ID, one of which confirms your address. Companies also provide their registration documents. Our team reviews them, usually within one business day.
  2. Get your address and mailbox number: [your number]-329 Howe Street, Vancouver, BC V6C 3N2.
  3. Update your mailing address with your bank, government accounts and anyone who writes to you.
  4. See every item online the day it arrives. Request a scan to read the contents.
  5. Forward originals when you need them. You get a quote first; nothing ships until you approve it.

Who uses it

  • Canadians working or retiring abroad
  • Snowbirds spending the winter in the US (see our snowbird mail service)
  • International students and their families
  • Newcomers and temporary residents with Canadian accounts
  • Non-residents with Canadian property, investments or business ties

What this address is, and isn't

It's a real street address with a private mailbox number, which many organizations accept as a mailing address. It is not a residential address, so it can't be used where the law requires where you actually live. Check each institution's rules before you switch, especially banks and government programs.

Forwarding to the US and worldwide

We forward letters and parcels to destinations around the world. Quotes are based on size, weight, destination and carrier, and you approve each one first. Combining several items into one shipment ($2.99 per consolidated shipment) usually costs less than sending them one by one. Duties and taxes in the destination country are extra.

Pricing

Basic $14.99/month (5 scans), Premium $24.99/month (20 scans), Business $39.99/month (50 scans). All in CAD, plus GST. Yearly plans save about 8–10%. See full pricing →

Questions from customers abroad

Can I sign up if I don't live in Canada?
Yes. You'll need two pieces of ID, one of which confirms your address. If you're signing up a company, we also need its registration documents.
Can I use this address with my Canadian bank?
Many banks accept a mailing address that's different from your home address, but rules vary by bank and account type. Ask your bank before switching, and keep your residential address on file where it's required.
Can CRA send my mail here?
CRA lets you keep a mailing address that differs from your home address. Your residency status for tax is a separate question; an accountant who works with non-residents can advise you.
How long does forwarding to the US take?
It depends on the carrier you choose in your quote; tracked courier options are faster than standard post.
